Believe it or not, but this is a candid shot. I was at my town's Fall Festival (akimatsuri) today photographing the performances and audience. This old man was watching the proceedings from the temple balcony.
The good thing about taking candid photographs of old people is that they're a little slow on the uptake (no offense), so you can take a little more time framing and getting everything just right.
One of my favourite portraits of the year.
P.S I took a squillion photos at the festival, so expect to see lots more over the next couple of days.
